Gynaecology
Gynaecology, also known as gynecology, is the medical specialty that focuses on women’s health, particularly issues related to the female reproductive organs. Gynaecologists diagnose and treat conditions such as gynaecological cancers, infertility, and dysmenorrhea. They perform procedures like laparoscopy and provide essential care during pregnancy. The term “gynaecology” comes from the Greek words “gyne” (meaning “woman”) and “logia” (meaning “study”). It is closely associated with obstetrics, forming the combined field of obstetrics and gynaecology (OB-GYN)
